Community Guidelines

Last Updated: January 2026

Carely Hair is a haircare-first community built on support, respect, and shared learning. These guidelines help keep the space helpful, safe, and welcoming for everyone - without sounding like a legal document. Think of these as community norms, not courtroom rules.

1. Be Respectful and Kind

  • No harassment or bullying: Don't target, insult, or belittle other users. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks are not.
  • No hate speech: Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics is not allowed.
  • Don't shame hair choices: Everyone's hair journey is different. Don't criticize textures, styles, protective styles, or personal preferences. We celebrate diversity here.
  • Be constructive: If you disagree or have feedback, express it respectfully. Focus on ideas, not people.

2. Profanity: Allowed, Not Abusive

We get it - hair days can be frustrating. Profanity is allowed when it's expressive, not abusive. If profanity is aimed at a person, group, or used to harass, it will be treated as abuse and removed.

Example (allowed): "This frizz is driving me f***ing crazy today!"
Example (not allowed): "You're a f***ing idiot for using that product."

3. No Spam or Manipulative Behavior

  • No spam: Don't post repetitive content, low-effort engagement bait (e.g., "like for a follow"), or unrelated promotions.
  • No link dumping: Don't flood comments or posts with affiliate links, referral codes, or storefront links. Share products because they're relevant, not just for profit.
  • Authentic recommendations: If you recommend a product, be honest. Disclose if you're affiliated with a brand or earning commissions.
  • No vote manipulation: Don't ask for upvotes, coordinate mass reporting, or use multiple accounts to game the system.

4. Respect Privacy

  • No doxxing: Don't share someone else's personal information (addresses, phone numbers, workplace, etc.) without consent.
  • Don't share private messages: Don't screenshot or share private conversations without the other person's permission.
  • Consent for photos: If you post photos that include other people, make sure they're okay with it.

5. No Medical Misinformation or Unsafe Claims

  • Don't diagnose or treat: Carely Hair is not a medical platform. Don't claim you can diagnose or treat medical conditions. If someone has a health concern, encourage them to see a licensed professional.
  • No dangerous advice: Don't promote unsafe practices that could cause harm (e.g., DIY chemical treatments without proper knowledge, dangerous "home remedies").
  • Be clear about expertise: If you share advice, be honest about your background. Don't pretend to be a dermatologist, trichologist, or hair stylist if you're not licensed.

6. Keep It Haircare-First

Carely Hair is about hair care, routines, products, progress, and community support. Off-topic content (politics, unrelated promotions, etc.) may be removed to keep the feed useful and focused.

On-topic: Routine updates, product reviews, progress photos, questions, tips, protective styles, texture talk, scalp care.
Off-topic: Political debates, unrelated personal drama, self-promotion unrelated to hair care.

7. Content Restrictions

  • No sexually explicit content: This is a hair care community, not an adult platform.
  • No violence or graphic content: Don't post graphic images or promote self-harm, violence, or dangerous behaviors.
  • No illegal activity: Don't promote, coordinate, or engage in illegal activity.
  • No impersonation: Don't pretend to be someone else, including brands, influencers, or other users.

8. Reporting and Moderation

How to Report

If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the "Report" feature on posts or comments. Reports are reviewed by human moderators and, in some cases, automated systems.
